Eco tourism Alenquer
2018 | Alenquer
The plot of the intervention is classified as an Agricultural Area, that way, Ecotourism Alenquer was designed as a Wine Hotel, taking advantage of the vineyards that embrace the place. There so, the Spa and Gym are in the middle of the vines for a more immersive experience, which includes an interior courtyard as well as an accessible rooftop for sightseeing.
A total conversion is proposed for the existing Main Building, maintaining the existing structure but giving a brand-new image to the facades. The Panoramic Bar at the top aims to guarantee a full view over the vineyards to the north and the fruit trees to the south.
For accommodation, we propose to two types of lodges: villas for families, and suites for couples or small groups.
The family lodges – Villas – are located among the fruit trees and closer to the main facilities and services. Following a modular logic that works in mirror, these lodges can be joined in order to offer more connected rooms for bigger families.
The suites’ lodges are located among the traditional autochthonous cork oaks with a view to the vines. Their distance creates the illusion of a private modern and luxurious wood cabin. These lodges are created from the combination of 3 prefabricated modules (bathroom and circulation + bedroom + living room). The combinations are determined by the location, the views as well as the surrounding trees.
The use of modular architecture with prefabricated modules allows for a faster and more cost-efficient construction.
The variety of offers the resort presents, its natural resources where the guests are immersed in nature, as well as the different typologies of the lodges provides a unique experience.
